Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Fatech International LLC, doing business as Fateka Computer Store ("Fateka," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit fateka.com (the "Site") or contact us through it. We are a local computer repair and custom-build shop in Herndon, Virginia. The Site is informational: there is no online store, shopping cart, account login, or online payment on fateka.com.
We have written this policy to describe our actual practices in plain language. If anything here is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom.
1. Information We Collect
a. Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically through analytics and security tools, including:
- Your IP address and approximate location (such as city or region) derived from it;
- Device and browser information (type, operating system, screen size, language);
- Pages you view, links and buttons you click, how you arrived (referring site or search), and time spent;
- For specific interactions, custom analytics events such as clicking a phone number, a "get directions" link, or an outbound product link;
- Session activity recordings and heatmaps via Microsoft Clarity, which capture mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and page interactions to show us how pages are used (see Section 4).
b. Information you provide to us
If you use our chat widget or contact form, or otherwise reach out, we collect the information you choose to give us, which typically includes your name, email address, phone number, and the contents of your message. These are handled through our customer-communications platform, GoHighLevel (see Section 5).
c. Information collected when you visit our store
If you bring a device in for repair or service, we collect the information needed to perform the work and contact you, such as your name, contact details, the device, and the reported issue. Repair records are kept for our business and warranty purposes. This in-store information is not collected through the Site, but we describe it here for completeness.
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, and we do not process credit-card payments on fateka.com.
2. How We Use Information
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site and understand how visitors use it;
- To respond to your questions, quotes, and service requests;
- To follow up about a repair, build, or inquiry, and to provide the services you ask for;
- To measure which pages and topics are useful and to improve our content and local service;
- To detect, prevent, and address security, fraud, or technical issues;
- To comply with law and enforce our terms.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you, and we do not engage in "profiling" for those purposes.
3. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Data
Fateka does not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or "targeted advertising" as those terms are defined under Virginia law. We do not run advertising networks, AdSense, or remarketing pixels on this Site. We share information only with the service providers described below, and only as needed to run our business.
4. Cookies, Analytics, and Session Recording
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and to operate features like chat. Strictly necessary technologies keep the Site working; analytics technologies help us understand usage. We use a tiered, consent-aware setup: Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and runs for everyone. Google Analytics 4 runs in a privacy-friendly cookieless mode by default and only sets cookies after you accept on the banner. Microsoft Clarity, which includes session recording, loads only after you accept. If you decline, GA4 stays cookieless and Clarity does not run. You can change or withdraw your choice any time through the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer, control cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of specific tools as noted below. Blocking cookies may affect some features.
The analytics and recording tools we use are:
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: a privacy-first, cookieless measure of aggregate page views and performance. It does not use cookies or fingerprinting and does not track you across sites.
- Google Analytics 4: measures traffic, sources, and on-page interactions (including the custom events noted in Section 1). It sets cookies and processes your IP address. You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Microsoft Clarity: produces heatmaps and session recordings of how the Site is used (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and page interactions). Clarity is configured to mask text you type into form fields by default, so it is not intended to capture the content of what you enter. Clarity sets cookies, and Microsoft acts as our service provider for this data. Learn more in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
We use this information in aggregate to improve the Site. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
5. Service Providers We Share Information With
We share personal information only with vendors who process it on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of it. These include:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Website hosting, security, and privacy-first analytics |
| Analytics (GA4) and web fonts | |
| Microsoft | Clarity heatmaps and session recordings |
| GoHighLevel (LeadConnector) | Chat widget and contact form; storing and responding to your messages |
| Mailgun | Sending our email replies |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our customers, the public, or us. If our business is ever sold or merged, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
6. Affiliate Links
Some of our buying guides contain Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, Fateka earns from qualifying purchases. If you click an affiliate link and shop on Amazon, Amazon may set its own cookies and process your information under Amazon's Privacy Notice. We do not receive your name, payment details, or order contents; we may receive aggregate reporting on referred sales.
7. How Long We Keep Information
Analytics data is retained for the period set in each tool (generally up to 14 months for Google Analytics, and per Microsoft's defaults for Clarity). Messages and contact details you send us are kept as long as needed to respond and for our ordinary business and warranty records, then deleted or anonymized. You can ask us to delete information about you as described in Section 8.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Virginia residents. Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Virginia consumers have the right to: confirm whether we process their personal data and access it; correct inaccuracies; delete personal data; obtain a portable copy; and opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising or such profiling, so those opt-outs do not apply to our practices, but you may still exercise your access, correction, deletion, and portability rights.
To exercise these rights, email [email protected] or call (703) 783-2050. We will respond within 45 days (extendable once by 45 days where permitted) and may need to verify your identity first. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision or emailing [email protected] with "Privacy Appeal" in the subject line; if your appeal is denied, you may contact the Virginia Attorney General at oag.state.va.us.
Residents of other states. If you live in a state with comparable privacy rights, you may make the same requests, and we will honor those that apply to you. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any privacy right.
9. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because there is no common industry standard for "Do Not Track" browser signals, the Site does not respond to them differently at this time. We do not sell data or serve targeted advertising regardless of any signal. If your browser sends a recognized opt-out preference signal, you may also use the browser controls and opt-out links described above.
10. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We also do not knowingly process the personal data of a known child without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including HTTPS encryption in transit, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify affected users and authorities as required by Virginia and other applicable law.
12. Third-Party Links
The Site links to other sites (for example, Amazon, Google Maps, and our affiliated business Fatech IT Advisors). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their privacy policies directly.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Material changes may be highlighted on the Site.
